Advising
An academic adviser can serve as a guide and mentor throughout the undergraduate program.
All first-time freshmen in biochemistry are advised by the director of undergraduate advising, Dr. Shari Freyermuth. After the freshman year, each undergraduate student is assigned to a permanent faculty adviser to help develop a course of study and a career plan. Special courses designed specifically for freshman and sophomore biochemistry majors help students build relationships with key faculty members.
Through Mizzou Undergraduate Advising, students also can connect to peer advisers, community advisers, financial aid advisers, study-abroad/international-student advisers and other acadmic-planning gurus to help navigate the course of learning and living at Mizzou.
